Evil Sorcerer's Party by Johnathan Wellington Wells (2003)
Something of a comic book video game, it's devided into 4 files. The story, art and occasional music are great, combining to perhaps the best narrative out of any zzt game (I've played). There are several different gameplay styles throughout the game, with item puzzles being the main one. Without a doubt a very solid game.
